Happy Valentine's Day!

My sweet husband and precious baby girl picked out these gorgeous flowers for me! The Saturday before Valentine's Day I was so sick with sinuses and congestion that I could barely stand to get off the couch.  So my dear husband took Sophie out for a couple hours and let me rest.  And this was what accompanied them home!  I am so very blessed to be loved by these two angels ~ they are truly the light of my life.

Sophie had her very first Valentine's Day party on Monday afternoon!  Kevin and I took half a day's vacation and went to lunch just the two of us.  This does not happen often so I was really looking forward to it!  I wish I could say it was a ton of fun, but I was so medicated on Benadryl that I was out of it the entire time :(  Sorry Honey!  After lunch, we went home and I took a MUCH needed nap. Thankfully, I was feeling worlds better when I woke up, and since I had not run fever, off to the party we went!  I am so, so glad that we got to share this with her.  It still amazes me how big she has gotten :( She absolutely loves school and we have been told she is often the life of the party :)  Oh and for the record, Sophie can eat sugar with the best of them!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  Even not feeling well, it was a wonderful day and yet another of Sophie's firsts to mark down in the record books :)  We are so very, very blessed!

Children's Museum ~ #1 in Our Book Too!

The Children's Museum of Houston was voted #1 in the United States and after today, it is certainly #1 in our book!  Granted we've only ever been to one, but that is besides the point :)  Sophie loved, loved, LOVED the TotSpot area.  Toys, child proof, toys, other kiddos to entertain her, more toys ~ heaven I tell you!  I'd do just about anything to make this kid smile and believe me, I have done some really silly things :)  But if taking her to the TotSpot is all it takes, then I foresee a membership coming our way!

TWO?!  OH MY...that's all I have to say about that!

Ten...

Two whole hands.  Two months until her birthday.  Two months and three days until her birthday party.  This ten sure does incorporate a lot of two stuff...

I wish I could tell you something different, and I know I say this every month, but honestly, someone tell me where the time GOES!  I don't understand...yesterday, we were going to the hospital, bringing her home, thrilled because she pushed up on her hands.  Yesterday, I swear it was yesterday!  But it wasn't yesterday...it was TEN months ago people, TEN!!!

And even though I just can't believe it has been ten months, it has been an AMAZING ten months.  I have loved every second with this sweet child.  I am so blessed that the Lord has entrusted her to us and will forever be grateful for every second.  She is the light and love of our lives.  No matter how bad my day was or how tired I am, that smile, that hug, those kisses, those big blue eyes can right my entire world.  She has captured our hearts completely.

So at TEN months Sophie...

• Is probably close to 17.5 lbs.  
• Wears 9 month clothes for the most part.  6-12 month pants with elastic waist are the best (still tall and skinny).
• Finicky about taking bottles.  Prefers table food, water, sippy cups and juice boxes.  I think she wants to be a big girl :)
• Established Mexican food is by far the best option :)
• Still as hard-headed as we were a month ago.
• Have learned to say "uh-oh", "no-no" and "gee" which I still have not decoded.
• Has terrible separation anxiety.
• Loves peek-a-boo and can figure out how to play with just about anything.
• Developed a habit of crawling through the end tables, coffee table, pretty much anything where there is sufficient space.
• Still loves the dogs.
• Has been sick more than any other ten month old I know :(  This one makes me VERY sad.  
• Now takes infant vitamins daily.  A product of said sickness above.
• Loves daycare ~ particularly Ms. Gaines.  She plays favorites big time!
• Can stand unassisted as long as she doesn't think about it :)
• Is a pro at furniture surfing and walking behind her push toys.  
• Adores all snacks and yogurt.  Oh, and ice cream.  Ssssssshhhhhh!  I don't think that's on the approved pediatrician list ;)
• Still gets excited about baths, going outside, music, the dogs, and of course Mommy and Daddy!
• Had her first visit to the Children's Museum and LOVED it :)
• And finally, as always, loved more than she could possible know!

This kid is obsessed with paper which means she LOVES the grocery ads!  I let her help me cut coupons on Sundays too :)  Of course, that really just means she gets to play with the paper once I've sorted through them, but she doesn't know that!
