And the countdown has begun!!!
31 days from now we will be doing the party dance to celebrate our little Sophia's FIRST birthday!!!! Am I the only who simply can't believe it????
Eleven...
Oh what can I possibly say about our sweet girl at ELEVEN months old! She is more amazing than she was yesterday and will be more wonderful tomorrow! I just do not think I could ever express how much we love this little munchkin...absolutely indescribable.
At eleven months, our sweet Sophia:
Always and forever,
Mama and Dada
At eleven months, our sweet Sophia:
- LOVES school
- Has an absolutely adorable school best friend, Harper Anne. These two are hilarious. As soon as Harper gets to school Sophia starts clapping, and Harper Anne always goes straight to Sophia for her morning hug! Between myself and Harper's mom, we are totally going to get this on video! Beyond priceless!!!
- Could live outside...something about outside just makes this kid happy. Hence why I am hoping we can get her a swingset for her birthday!
- Wears 9-12 month clothes. Well, sort of. Shirts and pjs are 9-12. Pants are a 6-months or 6-12 with elastic waist. Tall and skinny ~ she'll appreciate this later :)
- Still takes about 5 bottles a day.
- Pretty much thinks baby food is well, for babies! She adores table food!!! So...we officially have zero baby food in our house. Baby snacks yes, but baby food, no.
- Knows how to sign "more". We are working on "all done". But she eats like a pig so I don't see that one being a favorite of hers :)
- Likes to drink from a sippy cup but definitely would prefer a straw.
- INDEPENDENT!
- Still thinks bath time and brushing her teeth are super cool! I will enjoy this while it lasts.
- Is no longer really interested in tv, which is actually a good thing.
- Loves, loves, LOVES to dance!
- Favorite song = ABCs
- Gets excited A LOT and her clapping is PRECIOUS!
- Jabbers away constantly. Unfortunately we don't know what it means but I'm sure it is VERY important ;)
- Stands up really well on her own.
- Has attempted her first step a gazillion times but she always falls over. I'm sure it's coming soon! Oh, how our life will change!
- Is determined to play with any and all dog related items...this is a thorn in our sides almost daily. I can't tell you how many times she has dumped George's water bowl all over her and the floor!
- Is still a sleeping champ! She has her off days but for the most part she is a great sleeper ~ 11-12 hours on average.
- Generally wakes up in a fantastic mood :)
- Sort of has a temper. This child knows what she wants and heaven help you if you stand in her way.
- Is in a pretty serious separation anxiety stage. Thankfully, this has not crossed over to school. I am hoping this phase ends quickly. It is not my favorite!
- Is getting prepared for her big day next month. I cannot believe I am planning a BIRTHDAY party!!! Are you kidding me? Seriously, where does the time go???
- Has the best smile, brightest blue eyes, and most adorable laugh!
- And finally, as always, is loved and cherished more than she will ever, ever, know!!!
Always and forever,
Mama and Dada
Date Day!
What? No, I am not kidding! Kevin and I actually had a DATE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whiel Kevin and James went to watch an Aeros game one Friday night (3/4), Jaime and I stayed up late catching up and having some girl time. Sophie stayed up for part of it but then she just couldn't hang! LOL! One day :)
That Saturday (3/5) we had a lazy morning with great Taco Cabana breakfast burritos! Yes, Mexican. Who would have guessed :) And after a little fun with some Mary Kay makeup (hint hint: Jaime is now selling Mary Kay so if you happen to need anything, I know someone who can hook you up!) Kevin and I officially had a date day. Movie (with popcorn and a coke!), lunch, a little shopping, and a trip to Sonic. Oh, the little things in life!
Kevin and Sophie ended up taking a little siesta while Jaime and I went to Archiver's (scrapbook store). Side Note: Neither one us bought anything ~ that's a first for sure!!!!!!!! Then once Kevin and Sophie were rested up, we all went out for dinner at Black Eyed Pea.
May sound like a boring day to some, but it was a wonderful day for us. I absolutely love spending time with my family and friends. And while I might have missed Sophie just a little, I am so glad Kevin and I were able to spend some quality time with each other. Thanks Aunt Jaja and Uncle James for watching our Sophie Girl! I know she was in great hands :)
Um...and my apologies for having no pictures :( Rare occurrence but it does happen every now and then!

Friends Forever!
I know I am super behind in blogging but life has been a bit busy lately! Some of you may recall that I had a SEVERE ear infection not too long ago ~ and by severe I mean three trips to an ENT severe! Awful. Awful. AWFUL!
Thankfully, I have amazing friends who have been there to help out whenever we needed them. To each of you, you can never know how much you mean to me and our family! The Lord has blessed us way beyond what we deserve. In saying all of that, a special thank you to Debbie, Daniel and Julian for taking Sophie to the Houston Children's Museum for a playdate one Saturday. I know poor Kevin was in desperate need of a break given the fact that I wasbasically absolutely useless! Though his break consisted of errands...hmmm...not sure about that one. But for the record, it was NOT me asking him to run errands ~ promise!
I think it is safe to say that while I was at home in pain, my sweet baby girl was having one heck of a good time :) Love, love these two kiddos more than words can possibly say!

Ready to roll!
Ball Pit Fun!
Playtime!
And the race is on!
And I don't think she's playing fair :)
I think Tia Debbie has her hands full!
I wonder how much longer this will be their mode of transportation?
This place never seems to get old! So many toys :)
She sure does love her Tia Debbie!
First of all, is my child comfortable or what?
Secondly, Julian's face is HILARIOUS!
And this is the end result of a fun-filled day!!!

A Wow Moment!
No not a wow moment ~ a GOD moment! I don't often share certain truly personal aspects of my life on this blog ~ perhaps not to offend, most likely because I don't like to cause anyone to have reason to feel uncomfortable. But this is my blog and the Lord is going to use it ~ so here it goes!
Not many of you know that I had some tests run recently just because I have been feeling "off". I do have the results and no I won't share those. Not because I don't want you to know, but simply because I haven't officially talked to my doctor yet. It's not anything overly serious so please don't freak out ~ if you were that is ;)
Anyway, that kind of thing, the feeling "off" thing scares me. I have been so worried...which obviously isn't helping! However, I kept talking to the Lord. And sometimes I don't believe my prayers are getting past the ceiling. But you know what, the Lord hears EVERY WORD and EVERY THOUGHT! And tonight I had that "are you even HEARING me" mindset? And then...then...the Lord revealed Himself to me. I talked to Him for a good half hour about every thing I could think of and then I claimed the truth that He knows even those thoughts I couldn't even think to speak. And you know what? The LORD loves ME! His word is TRUTH! My fears are rooted in the devil and the devil lost a heck of a long time ago. So you know what, my life is for the Lord! My life is for the Lord!!! For those of you I have ever led astray, I AM SO SORRY! Please forgive me. This is my heart. He is real. He died for all of us. And He LOVES us. Really, really loves us.
He has blessed me ~ with a wonderful husband, amazing daughter, a dear family, and friends I cherish beyond words. But more importantly me, He has blessed me with the gift of love and salvation. So thank you Lord for loving ME and forgiving me! You are amazing, holy and perfect! To God be the Glory!!!
Josh Wilson is one of my very favorite artists! And I turned to his songs to offer praise this evening. Enjoy and I hope you have been blessed in some way by the words of my heart :) I love you all so very much :)

Oh where, oh where...
have we been? I've got one word for you ~ SICK!!! I tell you, this family cannot catch a break in the sickness area lately. If it isn't Sophie, it's me. Thankfully Kevin has missed the viruses, infections, doctor visits, tests, etc. Well, he actually hasn't missed all the doctor visits simply because I made him go to the ENT with me! I do not like pain and having your ear vacuumed out and a wick put in, is not the most pleasant experience. Anyway, enough details on that. To sum it up, I have basically been sick (at least to some degree) almost the entire month of February and Sophie probably half of it. BUT, things are looking up and I am finally feeling a LOT better, and (crossing my fingers and praying I don't jinx it) Sophie only has a minor runny nose at the current moment.
So now that I am in the process of getting well, be prepared to get caught up on the recent times in the Taliaferro household ~ the healthy, fun times that is :)
